No Visa Stamping on passports :
The UAE no longer requires visa stamps on passports for residents; therefore, expats going home are encouraged to bring their new Emirates IDs to prevent delays at airports.
The latest card form includes all pertinent details for printing on the visa stamp, and immigration counters at various airports can read the data on the ID.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) stated that residents in the UAE can now apply for different purposes using just one application to get their residency visa and Emirates ID to ease the application process.
According to the latest update, Emirates ID will replace the visa stamp on residents’ passports, another essential amendment to the UAE’s visa system.
UAE New VISA Rules 2022
The UAE citizens can now apply for their Emirates ID and residency visa through a single unified application, as announced by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP). This streamlined process aims to simplify applications, reduce processing times by 30 to 40 percent, and align with the new rule stating that Emirates IDs serve as proof of residency. Consequently, Emirates ID cards are now issued to residents in the UAE, as per the circular issued in April.
However, based on the experience of some expats who recently traveled, failure to bring the actual Emirates ID could result in issues at airports in India.
